While not "back" to dA in an official capacity just yet, I wanted to pop in and say "WHEE-HOWDY!" and also offer up a bit of thanks for coming by my gallery here. There are a lot of opinions about deviantART, but the simple fact is that this is the place where I really found an audience, and where characters of mine (like the wee Gogo here) really took shape. "Grew up", as it were. So whatever the future brings, i've enjoyed the journey that's taken place here so far.
Oh, and if you're trying to make heads or tails of what Wee-Gogo is singing, this might ring a bell for the older set: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmPRHJ… (warning: atonal kid-singing ahead )
See you later!
I am curious, because I'd like to learn how to color like this. I use photoshop for coloring like any da-schmoe, but I still have trouble with making the line art smooth enough, and the coloring all vivid like this.
I typically do a rough sketch on a low opacity layer, then do the lineart on a separate layer over that, with colors between and shades atop the colors.
Drawing with a tablet is STILL a little wonky for me. (It takes a lot longer since I erase and undo a LOT of lines). But the line quality is much more true and less messy, with sharper, cleaner edges than a scanned inked piece. It's not a perfect system, but has its benefits.
Regarding the text between the lines: Enjoy your sirloin steak when you get it, and don't be ashamed of surviving off of corn when you gotta. For what it's worth, I hope your diet is more steak and less navigating the maize.
Wow, I understand reruns but I wouldn't take you for being that old VanHeist! Here's hoping for that reverse age twins and Andy parent idea from the earlier comcomments
How sad is it that I actually remembered that commercial before you even posted the link to it.
Awesomely cute, for a second I thought it was supposed to be Gogo's baby pic or her and Andy's offspring in the future. Hint-hint.
Awesome work and that goes for all of your art!
