quick colored sketch before work, inspired by Godsmack's "Running Blind".

i often feel the way Gogo looks here; aimless, unsure of where you're supposed to be, maybe feeling like everything's passing you by. Universal feeling, even if you're not entirely human :meditate:

anyway, time for work. enjoy.

I really adore the way you draw Gogo's hands, they're my favorite, in particular the sharpened talons. Would you ever do a ref of different hand poses or maybe a small tutorial? I've always had trouble with hands, but I want more than anything to be able to draw my favorite ones, and it's frustrating when I can't seem to get it right.

Y'know, I think for once I can kind of sympathize with Gogo; I think we all can in this instance. Sometimes we all have to wonder "What do I do now?" We can't be unlost all the time... I mean, how can you ever truly know what the path that you're supposed to be on looks like if you never get lost and have to find it again from time to time?

This just made me sigh in.... understanding I think. I'm not sure if you can do that, but I kind of went "oh yeah. I know what that feels like."

Especially the aimless part. I really, really liked this.

It's a different side to Gogo that is so new and different. Great job. Her expression and body language is excellent too.

Weather you feel this way or not, your work is stunning and I enjoy your artwork. It's a highlight in my day when I notice you post a new piece. =)

Huh.
I used to have that feeling a lot.
I still get mopey occasionally, but I never feel aimless anymore. Probably because I have two huge lifelong projects now. It really seems to help one's drive, you know?

You have, I think, managed to capture the feeling perfectly. I can remember what it feels like, looking at this.

Well, time to go pursue one of those goals some more. >:|

It seems goals worth having are the same goals that often cause "dark nights of the soul", where you wonder if you're up to the task at hand.

Drive and focus.

Nah, I never worry about being up to the task at hand, because I never am. I pick impossible goals to begin with, and then reforge myself to accomplish them by doing them. When I accomplish them, I discard them and pick new ones. But I used to constantly doubt myself, because I didn't realize that it wasn't about "having potential," it was about fucking doing it.

Anyway, yeah. I guess people call it drive and focus, but it just feels like how to live, to me.

Gogo looks amazing. You portrayed the expression wonderfully, and the sketch lines as so much more depth to the piece. Wonderful job.
