this is a concept sketch from a current book project i'm working on. Without giving too much away, the story is the spiritual successor to "The Adventures of Johnny Bunko" in that the catalyst for change through enlightenment and education is, as is often the case, a magical girl, and this umbrella-skirted spirit is Delta.
People who have read Johnny Bunko might remember Diana, the diminutive spitfire of a pixie-girl who shoved our hero forcibly into realizing his potential through career advice (and ear pulls). Delta is a bit more restrained, less confrontational, and much less "hands on", and her area of expertise is familial in nature; she's more of a field therapist than a career-genie.
i wholly support the idea of more pixies. In particular, her smooth and sleek outfit's very nice. If I may be so bold as to offer a couple of pointers - great pose, but watch that arm. The ratio of forearm to upper arm is a little out of whack; perhaps reducing the forearm a little would give it a more balanced look. Also, i can't help but wonder if slightly puffed sleeves would help balance out the costume somewhat - she's very bottom heavy, which draws the eye to the umbrella nicely, but leaves her top half feeling a little desolate. You want something that draws the eye to her face - maybe a headband or a bow instead of the sleevy puffs.
