EDITZ: sorta continues: [link]

the recent heatwave is monstrous. It's almost worse to have air conditioning, because walking outside is like walking into the steaming, stifling, wet mouth of an invisible beast. I'm grateful to have AC on days like this, but i do feel an anonymous sense of shame for having the ability to simply "opt out" of boiling alive in my own skin.

I suppose the setup to this (besides the heat wave) is that Andy seems to have foolishly sought Gogo's assistance in physical training, perhaps under the assumption that she would not be a pitiless and unrelenting bitch about it. He is wrong.

I often wonder, as Gogo asserts, if the fact that humans have done so much to keep themselves from unpleasant physical experiences that we've done gone and screwed ourselves as a species. I mean, by and large, most of us would really be up the creek without a lot of luxuries we've come to see as basic necessities.

I love Gogo. I just met her and she amazes me. Maybe because she's different. It's really refreshing.

Indeed according to some studies the most technologically advanced a society is... the more vulnerable it is to collapse.
I'm beggining to read the comic, so I still don't know where Gogo or the line of reasoning she uses beyond this warrior-like way of seeing silly things like a 115 degree temperature :P.

But... in fact the human body is not designed to survive extreme weather changes... at least not without starting to eat or destroy itself :P.

Another downside of Gogo reasoing: putting out some "commodities" of modern life means we have to stand in the path of Darwin laws and let old people and young children die for reasons not seen in centuries :P.

Nice work :).

I will never feel such shame, for I was made to hide in the summer until the air literally freezes your eyeballs solid. The cold is my time.

Nice effects for the last frame on Andy.

Hmm, I agree. Humans don't really have claws, nor fangs, nor any kind of defense mechanism other thank what they create. A humans five senses are horrible compared to other animals. And then when you think about all the little luxuries and people think they just can't live without... well, humans would be in trouble if all those little luxuries went away.

And hehehee, a puddle of Andy goop. I don't know why, but that makes me giggle so much. :giggle:

What's considered the normal range for humans is outside of other animals'; Consider dolphins, whales, and dogs. Never tested a dog whistle, nor do I intend to torment a dog that way. Also I noticed an advantage humans have over other animals is a free front set of limbs and a kick that's supposed to be proportionally stronger than most. Unfortunately that kick has been wasted on a gas pedal.

I don't have AC, and I never have. I feel it's an unnecessary luxury, and I've lived in the desert my whole life. If you can't tough out the climate where you live then you really shouldn't live there. "If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen" or something to that effect.

Does this story have a beginning... as a plot behind it?

I've been looking around a bit, but I couldn't find one. If there's one, could you give me a link?
