so, between new Legend of Korra episodes, I've been fluttering through the first three seasons of A:TLA and gee whiz, do i love them characters. i could stand to do more fanart of the whole franchise, since there's so many fun characters to pick from, but everyone knows IT AIN'T AVATAR IF IT AIN'T GOT TOPH!
Toph Beifong is one of those characters that, as soon as they drop into the story, just owns the place henceforth. She's just the right amount of sweet and sour with an arsenal of creative and brutal abilities that lights up the story when she's around.
this was a real quick piece i wanted to finish before work, so i got the bending pose but no elements bent! So i'm going to have to finish it some (or make an ensemble piece!) but i'm mostly happy with it.

I really like Toph. In most stories, when there's already a solid gang made, and then one character just joins out of the blue, it really annoys me because it feels unnatural, like what the heck are you doing here we don't need you
But with Toph it just really clicked, it really felt like she belonged :)
