By now it's clear that Halloween simply isn't Halloween in my corner of dA without HAMS.

This is the one holiday of the year where i feel more and more nostalgic each year, and inexplicably sad when it passes by. Halloween used to be the promise of strange and slightly morbid celebrations, parties and costumes and indulging in candy that was usually off-limits in such quantities. When I was a kid, the world still had weird boundaries, the darkness was still more or less unknown, and it seemed like a time of year when everyone acknowledged weird and sinister things while being peculiarly happy about it. Now that I'm older and sadly more aware of the world, this odd little holiday seems more and more distant, and when it's over, I feel as if it's still being fun, but off somewhere else where I don't go anymore.

I need to get to more parties, I guess.

Anyway, I also have a reason to be mildly bummed this year because this is not the comic I intended to post. I really like the idea of Halloween being a "Bomango" tradition, and so I wanted to give the gallery something on this day, even if it's just a placeholder. Fact is, last year Gogo had her moment in "Little Monsters" [link] and this year the poll went to Didi. But I had so many conflicting ideas for a Halloween Didi comic that they sort of bottlenecked, and long story short, I didn't have it done in time for today. :(

The good news is that I'm not very well going to let it go til next year. And so, like the candy you just don't have room for on the night of, Didi's comic will have to wait just a little bit longer. But hey, one less reason to be sad about a holiday passing!

Stay tuned. In the meantime...HAMS.

One of the things I oddly think is awesome, is that you devised a way to make the speech bubbles blend into the scene... This is probably a common technique, but I think it is genius D:

I mean, it's like crazy thoughtful and it doesn't break the flow of the scene. Awesome D:
