i think this is the biggest comic i done ever submitted. sort of a "came up with it as i went" deal like the last one. I could have split it into parts but i think it works better as one big comic, so lucky you, right?

had a dream where Gogo was part of the Disney lineup. The setup for this comic is that Disney is taking open applications for the Disney Princess treatment like a reality show (shows that i despise but which are relatively easy to generalize and stuff). Didi is obviously way more into it than Gogo, who has fun with it at first but then sorta destructs as always.

(by the way, gogo's comments regarding Ariel are referring to the Little Mermaid's Ariel character, and not ...that just occurred to me)

anyway, I'd had an idea along these lines since September when I heard a really great lecture by Crispin Freeman about the philosophy behind magical girl/princess archetypes. This is a greatly distilled approach to the theme, but it follows that there isn't much compatibility between a character like Gogo and the classical Disney princess archetype. In a way this kind of helped me narrow the character focus of my own work in that writing this i kind of felt like Gogo occupies almost every classical player role EXCEPT the princess...comic relief, villain, and hero, maybe, but would rather off herself than be the damsel in distress.

although i'll admit it would be kind of neat to see her as an idol for young girls. The world would go to hell much quicker.
